Napa preparing building codes tougher than 2011 state rules

Napa is taking a hint from the state’s new green building standards code — referred to as Calgreen and scheduled to take effect in 2011 — and is using it as a foundation to upgrade the city’s standards for construction of commercial, retail and residential buildings.

California Climate Risk and Response report

California Climate Risk and Response, a report released in November 2008 by UC Berkeley, provides for the first time a comprehensive examination of the economic impacts of climate change and adaptation in California. In conducting this multi-sector assessment, authors compile the most recent available science on climate damage, assess its economic implications, and examine alternative strategies for adaptation.
